Pippa Reid-Foster is a neo-classical composer and harpist creating atmospheric, contemporary music that sits at the crossroads of minimalism, ambient soundscapes and traditional storytelling.
Her compositions explore texture, repetition, rhythm and space, often drawing inspiration from the natural world, landscapes and the emotional experiences of travel, change and resilience. Written primarily for pedal and lever harp, her music combines the organic resonance of the instrument with looping, layered textures and minimalist structures to create immersive and deeply atmospheric soundscapes.
Her work is particularly influenced by composers and artists including Philip Glass, Terry Reilly, Steve Reich, Ludovico Einaudi, Nils Frahm and Erland Cooper, Meredith Monk while retaining a distinctive voice rooted in the unique sound and versatility of the harp.
Pippa is currently developing a new collection of ambient, neo-classical harp compositions for a forthcoming EP, scheduled for release in 2027. The new works continue her exploration of immersive sound, combining solo harp, live looping and carefully crafted layers to create music that invites the listener to slow down, reflect and become immersed in the sound.
Her music is written for both concert performance and intimate, unusual spaces, where the natural resonance of the harp and the acoustic environment become an integral part of the experience.
