It has been a very busy beginning to the new year. The wedding season for me started in February with five weddings, some of which were at my favourite venues, including the Rosslea Hall Hotel and The Cruin. Also a time when I do many wedding shows around Loch Lomond, the next one being at Hampden Park Stadium wedding show 4th + 5th April, come along and have listen to me play or simply ask questions about your music ideas for your ceremony.
April is turning into a busy month of performing. I will be performing for an hour at a private charity concert, this will be to raise money for Marfan Association UK. Then the middle of month is the annual Edinburgh International Harp Festival where I will be helping and also performing during the festival. The fesitval kicks off on the 10th April with the open gathering (i’m on the guest list), this should be a fun filled evening of music and networking. Then hopefully I begin work on recording some of my compositions and collaborating with electroacoustic composer Tim Cooper.
Harp Bazaar is my newest business adventure with fellow harpist Heather Downie. We are running this for the second year, our popular Childrens Summer Course 6th-10th July, in the The Tower Digital Arts Centre, Helensburgh. Flyers will be available at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival and you can get in touch with me if you would like some more information: firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also in the midst of planning our first Harp Bazaar Retreat for over 18’s. This will be a weekend of pampering and tunes based in the heart of Stirling, The Golden Lion Hotel, 30th October – 1st November, again get in touch if your interested in booking a space!
Time for me to get stuck into some practice and I have a beautiful spring afternoon to inspire me.
